Fridtjof Nansen
The Nansen Passport Association was created to provide consulting, psychological, legal and other assistance to refugees from countries with authoritarian and totalitarian regimes.
The Association employs qualified lawyers, teachers, journalists, psychologists, and translators as volunteers.
We extend a helping hand to all people who have left their country, and do not want to return there because of an authoritarian political regime, who find themselves in a difficult situation abroad, when they have no legal or actual opportunity to contact any of the government agencies of their country and the country of residence.
The Association's activities do not replace, but complement, national asylum or refugee reception authorities, which are ultimately responsible for their own procedures and systems.

Help for children and disabled people. The Association's priority is to provide assistance to refugees with children. This category of refugees has a particularly difficult time in a new country.
